Bellewstown Fri, 4th Jul, 2025  Empty Wallet I think you have to have experience coming here. Having said that, he threw away whatever experience gained in Down Royal with Nicola at the start. The one thing I said to her going out was 'don't ride the track, ride the horse and go through the gears'. She's a very intelligent young lady and is a lovely kid. We knew he would stay and we knew the other one (third-placed Carwyn) would stay. It is nice to give them a nice gallop around rather than working at home tomorrow in Glenburnie. It is nice that they win but when they popped out like they did I didn't think that was going to be on the cards. I get a great thrill out of winning for Sean (Jones), he has been with me forever. It is nice to win a race for him. He's probably a nursery type horse. He's a big, scopey horse and he should get better with age. We'll see where that brings us, I wouldn't have any big, major plans with him.

Curragh Sat, 28th Jun, 2025  Suzie Songs it was a last minute decision to run her but the beautiful thing about training for Moyglare, is you are allowed to do that and there are no set plans. I’m blessed with owners like that, I wake up and can change my mind and do whatever. Today’s race wasn’t the plan and she hasn’t worked since Cork but we were watching entries so I just threw her in. I thought it got to her today, so we’ll give her a wee break and come back for the sponsors race, the Moyglare (Stakes Group 1, September): it’s a race I’d love to put on the CV. We’ve a horse who ran well last night (Justiciar) and this filly, so have a nice bunch of horses heading that route. Colin said in Cork that Suzie Songs wanted further and sticking to the original plan, her next race would have been over seven (furlongs) but this presented itself during the week with few entries, so here we are.

Curragh Fri, 27th Jun, 2025  Quadruple Timing is everything, she’s in the sales at Newmarket (Wednesday 9th July) so Rory and Barry (Mahon) will discuss that,. We always thought she was a black-type filly. She was doing a job in Navan the last day and it didn’t work out so we can draw a line through that. Last year she was real tough and genuine but we didn’t get the black-type and then we just found ourselves wanting lately. That’s more like it now and we’ve a decision to make in the next few days. It’s all about the drop in class and being in your own grade, that’s what racing is about.

Curragh Fri, 27th Jun, 2025  Learntodiscover Box ticked, I’d say Ryan (Moore) was a little bit unlucky,. It wasn’t a wow performance. He’s a horse that we like but I was probably a tad disappointed with the performance. I didn’t like his head carriage in the last furlong, whether that’s conditions or whatever. I don’t think he hit the line as strong as you’d like him to hit it if he’s going to go forward into the next level, so let’s just see.

Naas Wed, 25th Jun, 2025  Luscious She’s physically done marvellous, and Gary kept it simple and just rolled along. We hoped she’d win her maiden and she’s done it well.

Down Royal Fri, 20th Jun, 2025  Sir Alfie Sir Alfie is a nice horse, we always liked him and he showed plenty of speed. He was plenty green the first time out but that run was put to good use and it just shows you what we are coming up against in Ireland. He finished fourth of four against a very, very good horse then, so I don't know why people didn't see that today. Leigh was very impressed, he said the runner-up came to him and he put his head down. The way he ran out, he will get further and is a nice horse going forward. He has improved with every week and will improve again. It is beautiful ground and compliments to Brian Hamilton (clerk of the course) and his team.

Cork Fri, 13th Jun, 2025  Suzie Songs She has been a queen, has been ready for a while but we took our time with the fillies this year. The only one I've started is Lady Iman (Group 3 winner) and I've let the others come, but this one is a lovely filly and did today what we had seen at home. There should be plenty of improvement in her and, as with her pedigree, she wants seven furlongs. Colin said the ground is on the easy side of good.
