  • Falakeyah

It’s easy to see why connections of FALAKEYAH have paid the supplementary fee for this exciting New Bay filly.

Owen Burrow’s runner was well supported on debut when running out an impressive winner of a Wolverhampton maiden in November. That bare form was ordinary but she showed massive improvement to take the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket last time.

That was another comfortable victory over 1m2f and the form received a nice boost from the third-placed runner winning a listed contest on its next start.

Falakeyah travelled with plenty of enthusiasm and showed all the pace necessary to cope with this drop back in trip to a mile, she ought to be suited by the stiff finish at Ascot.

She concedes experience to the rest of the field, but is open to the most improvement. Her dam is related to top-class operators Baaeed and Hukum and she may well be another Group 1 winner in the family.

Zarigana is entitled to respect as a classic winner with a record of four wins from five starts. However, she encounters different conditions from what she has previously raced on in France and isn't guaranteed to uphold the form with fourth-placed Exactly.

At a bigger price, KON TIKI is of some interest, she has a similar profile to the first selection, having won a maiden on the all-weather and taken a listed contest on turf last time.

Her form also ties in with the selection, both of them beating Life is Beautiful, who is set to contest the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes on Thursday.

She has shown an impressive turn of foot, including in that York Listed race, with that form boosted by the third-place Troia winning in the same Grade at Longchamp on her next outing.

Jane Chapple-Hyam knows the family well, having trained her half-brother Champagne Prince, and this daughter of Night Of Thunder can make a bold bid to defend her unbeaten record under William Buick.
