After an impressive win at Royal Ascot, My Cloud s next move was eagerly anticipated—but a health setback has delayed his Group-race ambitions.

Royal Hunt Cup Hero Forced to Miss Summer Mile

Roger Varian ’s unbeaten four-year-old My Cloud was withdrawn from the Summer Mile after scoping dirty, a decision that paused his upward trajectory following his Royal Hunt Cup victory in June.

The gelding had been due to make his Group-level debut back at Ascot, but an unsatisfactory scope meant connections had to pull the plug on those plans.

Chris Wall, racing manager to owners KHK Racing, confirmed:

“We had to take him out of the Summer Mile because he scoped dirty and he’s had treatment for that.”

Goodwood or Deauville Could Mark My Cloud’s Return

With the Pontefract Listed race this weekend ruled out, new plans are being shaped for late August.

“We’re looking at races at the end of August, we’ve got in mind the Celebration Mile at Goodwood and the Prix Quincey at Deauville at about the same time,” said Wall.

“We hope he’ll be ready for one of those and then we’ll take it from there.”
