History Of Fashion looks certain to miss out on getting a run in the BoyleSports Irish Grand National on Easter Monday and connections are now turning their attention to the Punchestown Festival.

The Pat Fahy-trained gelding won the Bar One Racing Porterstown Handicap Chase earlier this season but needs ten ahead of him in the handicap to come out in order to make the cut in the ‘National’ and is also unlikely to get a run in the bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Sandown the following Saturday.

“He’s flying but he won’t get into the Irish National. Fairyhouse is his track but he’s not high enough to get in,” said Fahy.

“He’s also entered at Sandown but won’t get in there either, so he’ll go to Punchestown for the 3m7f.

“We won it before with Mister Fogpatches and he (History Of Fashion) was third in it.”

The €50,000 Oaklodgelandscapes.ie Handicap Chase over 3m7f is on the final day of the Punchestown Festival (May 3).
