Willie Mullins continues to set records both domestically and worldwide, and the Co. Carlow handler took his eighth successive National Hunt trainers title as the 2014/15 champions were crowned at Punchestown this afternoon.

The Closutton maestro smashed through the four million euro barrier in win and place prize-money, and his tally of 187 domestic winners is just six short of his best total two years ago.

Mullins saddled a record 16 winners at this week's Punchestown Festival to beat his previous best of 13. He won 10 of the 12 Grade 1 races on offer at the Co. Kildare venue over the past five days, with Hurricane Fly and Djakadam filling the runner-up spots in the two events to escape him.

Incidentally Mullins also set a world record by sending out 30 Grade 1 winners this season (21 in Ireland and 9 in England) beating the previous mark of 25 set by American Bobby Frankel.

Ruby Walsh was crowned champion jockey for the tenth time, edging him one ahead of Charlie Swan, and he finished the season five clear of nearest rival Mark Walsh (79-74).

Gigginstown House Stud recapturing the champion owner title thanks to the likes of Road To Riches and Don Cossack.

Jonathan Burke is the champion conditional jockey, while Patrick Mullins took the amateur riders championship for the eighth successive year with 57 winners. Nina Carberry won the lady riders award with 30 wins.
