Save The Sixes secures SIS success Trainer Jessica Harrington’s first-reserve Save The Sixes (16/1) made all the running to land Roscommon’s SIS Supporting Irish Racing Fillies Maiden today, recouping some losses following a well-touted debut defeat in June. The three-year-old daughter of Space Blues has started a well-supported 9/2 chance for a Curragh maiden in June before finishing well held in mid-field, but today jockey Shane Foley elected to make the running, as the pair held on well to score by a head from Divine Legend . Kate Harrington reported “when she jumped out of the gates I was thinking ‘we were meant to be in second or third position’. “She was a beautiful yearling but she just grew and grew, and the ground was just too quick for her the first day, when she didn’t let herself down at all. We were waiting for here, and thank God she got in as first reserve this morning. “She’s a nice filly going forward and thanks very much to the owners (Andrew Rosen & Marcstown Farms) for having such patience with her. I’d say we’ll try and find a nice Listed race in France or somewhere.” Quotes from Gary Carson
