Noel Meade's Cheltenham Festival Bumper winner The Mourne Rambler will bid to follow up in the Champion Bumper at Punchestown next month.

Runner-up on his sole point-to-point start, the son of Well Chosen made a winning debut under Rules at Leopardstown over Christmas.

Sent off 15/2 to follow up at the festival earlier this month, the five-year-old justified his prominent market position in style under Colin Keane.

Speaking at Downpatrick on Sunday, owner Philip Polly said: "He'll go to the Punchestown Festival now.

"Then he'll go hurdling next season all being well."
