Punchestown refixed for Monday

Following an inspection at Punchestown this morning the course was found to be unfit for racing due to frost and as a consequence today's card has been rescheduled for next Monday (January 12th).

Although conditions at the track are improving, there is still some frost in the ground after a week of freezing temperatures.

The Irish Turf Club's press officer Cliff Noone said, 'Saturday's meeting at Punchestown has gone as there is still some frost in the ground.'

'It is a lot milder than it has been and things are improving but it has just come too late for Saturday's meeting. The main thing is that they have rescheduled for Monday where the full card will stand.'
