There is no improvement in conditions at present at Punchestown where dense fog has put this afternoon's high class John Durkan Chase meeting in serious doubt.

Just after 10am and Clerk of the Course at Punchestown Brendan Sheridan gave the following update: "There's no improvement from earlier on this morning, it's still unfit for racing - quite a dense fog, but we're going to give it every chance.

"The temperatures are remaining low and there is no wind to help clear the fog.

"We'll have a further update around mid-day."

The going is described as heavy following 10mm of rain since declarations.
