A 7:30am inspection will take place at Punchestown tomorrow to determine whether racing can proceed as scheduled.

Brendan Sheridan, clerk of the course, said: "We have had a total of 78mm of rain here at Punchestown since entries closed for this meeting. Between entries and declarations we had 66mm and since declarations yesterday we've had a further 12mm.

"Having spoken to Met Eireann this afternoon, they are forecasting a further 6-8mm of rain tonight through tomorrow. The track at Punchestown is currently heavy but fit for racing.

"However, with the current forecast and the possibility for more rain tonight we will hold an inspection tomorrow morning at 7:30am. If the forecast is correct, I would be hopeful that we will be able to race."
