Burke hoping for rain for Angel Karl Burke is hoping for rain as Fallen Angel bids to defend her title in the Coolmore America ‘Justify’ Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday. The Too Darn Hot mare landed the prize 12 months ago, which was the middle leg of a Group 1 hat-trick last season. She has been beaten on both outings this season, most recently when third in Listed company at Haydock last month, and Burke feels she will benefit from a slightly easier surface now. “Fallen Angel is a superstar filly. She likes a bit of cut in the ground so any rain that comes now, after such a dry summer, will be welcome. “She’s in great form. Obviously Ireland has been a very lucky place for her, winning the (Irish 1,000) Guineas and the Matron. Hopefully she hasn’t finished yet. “We won it with Laurens as well, a few years earlier. The Champions weekend has been so lucky for us. “We’ve been very well received over there, we get great support, and get very well looked after.
