He would have learned more today than ever before because he was shuffled back further than we wanted, and to be fair to Jack, he sat with him and had to come wide. Thankfully he jumped the last well and stayed going. It was lovely. He's improving all the time. Today was the plan, there is a novice handicap in Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day and we might go there but he's been on the go now plenty long enough. We'll see how he is in the next couple of days before making any definite plans as he might need a break. He's a tough little lad but he's only four so I don't want to empty him either. We'll give him a few days on the beach and he'll tell me.

He won nicely at Listowel but there was five last time out winners in this so I wasn't sure how he'd get on. I wasn't sure after all the rain too because he is only a handy little horse. I was just hopeful that he would handle the ground. Jack gave him a good ride, he went wide and kept holding on to him. They didn't go quick and he was sort of in the best spot then, he got to go at the right time. He missed the second last and my heart was in my mouth but thankfully he stayed going well. Today was the plan, so I'll have to go home and look to see what is there for him. He stayed battling the whole way to the line today and he might get a bit further. There is a lot of people with shares in the syndicate and they are from the UK, Waterford and Kilkenny. Decky McKenna and Johnny Ryan got the group set up.

in Kilbeggan the last day, he missed the first two hurdles big-time and was off it the whole way. I thought he'd have a bit of a chance the last day and don't know why he drifted back out, it was the funniest thing I have ever seen and it made no sense to me. I said to Jack (Foley) to put a line through that run and to ride him good and positive today. He jumped really well and Jack went for the gap on the inner turning in and he was happy. It is very hard when you're coming back off a bad run but I was hopeful today.
