Blow By Blow completed a treble on the card for owners Gigginstown House Stud (earlier won with Just Cause and Rogue Angel as he took the bumper at Fairyhouse, the Boomerang Animal Bedding Flat Race.

Second to Tamlough Boy on his debut at Punchestown in December, the Willie Mullins trained gelding won on his next start at Navan, beating Jett by four lengths.

Sent off 7/4 second favourite today he was settled in second by Patrick Mullins as the even money favourite Death Duty attempted to make all.

They were both ridden early in the straight with Blow By Blow getting to the front a furlong and a half from home, keeping on well from there to score by a length and three parts.

Death Duty had to settle for second under Nina Carberry for Noel Meade, while Sunni May was two and three parts of a length back in third.

Willie Mullins, who was recording his first winner since Limini won at Cheltenham on St Patrick's Day, said afterwards: "He's a fine big horse, a real chasing type.

"I suppose he'll go hurdling next year, Eddie (O'Leary) said three mile hurdling, but he's every inch a chaser - a real staying chaser.

"I'd say he'd want a good dig in the ground just by his size but he is by Robin Des Champs and they go on better."
