Gowran Park Fri, 4th Oct, 2024  Lot of Joy That was nice. Paul was keen to make a lot more use of her and make use of her jumping,. He schooled her during the week and she was very good. The ground is fairly lively, a bit more than anticipated, so he wasn't afraid to make the running and have a good go with her. It paid off. The other mare seemed to change tactics, she jumped off behind us. We were assuming they would go on. I think she's improving and we'll try and find another race like that and keep her on the mares route. She might be ground dependent, better off on nicer ground and hopefully we'll get another month or six weeks. I think it's as strong as I ever had her going to the races and that was a little bit of a worry, that she looked too strong but she's obviously better being like that.

Listowel Sat, 28th Sep, 2024  Where's My Jet He didn't get home in Galway but went to the start very fresh and we thought he was a much better horse than that. He won nicely in Killarney though and today beat Willie's other horse who is no slouch. I was happy that I was able to get a few lengths away from the others and his jumping was making ground, rather than me using petrol to do it. That is always a help when it comes to the business end and it was a good performance.

Listowel Fri, 27th Sep, 2024  Stormbreaker I thought Paul was on the right horse but having looked at the finish, I think Brian (Hayes, on Mr Escobar) was a little unlucky. The third-horse (Boston Beach) came and softened Mr Escobar up turning-for-home and more so, Mr Escobar is a tough ride and having no rail today and only 'island' hurdles was a big disadvantage to him. I think he might have prevailed if there was a rail the whole way up the straight but Brian couldn't really let him down as he was afraid that he might run out. Stormbreaker has had niggles, not much, and we're only teaching him how to settle now. Mr Escobar could go back on the flat.

Listowel Wed, 25th Sep, 2024  Sea Of Sands It was a nice start. He's a horse we got from Germany but he's had a lot of issues,. He just started to come right in the last couple of months and I thought we'd pick out a nice maiden hurdle for him. He did it nicely. He jumped the first well but I think that was probably the only one he jumped well!. He'll probably have to learn. He was just a bit keen as a lot of those Flat horses are. We'll look at mixing it with him. There might be a nice Flat race in him before the season ends.
