The Willie Mullins trained Devils Bride made it two from two over fences as he eased to victory in the feature at Limerick this evening the Grant Thornton Novice Chase.

Ridden by Paul Townend the seven-year-old Gigginstown House Stud owned gelding was sent to post the 1/2 favourite and he made all.

He asserted from before the second last and he was never asked a question by Townend as he ran out an easy five and a half length winner. Authinger finished second at 4/1 under Shane Shortall for Tony Martin while recent course winner Our Ned was a further four and a half lengths back in third.

Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "He won at JT’s meeting here last October and Richard Johnson won on him.

"He was a little bit clumsy over hurdles but he is different over fences. He needs good ground and thankfully the rain didn’t come earlier.

"He’ll go for another novice chase and we will make hay while the ground is good."
