Bumper winner Bishopsfurze is Cheltenham bound

Wed 24th Feb 2010, 17:28

The Willie Mullins trained Bishopsfurze earned his place in the Cheltenham Bumper following his late show to win the concluding Ladbrokes Cheltenham Bumper Series Bumper at Fairyhouse today.

Jockey Patrick Mullins was content to ride Bishopsfurze with extreme patience and the tactics paid off as the son of Broadway Flyer sprinted in the straight to hit the front close home, before striding on for a five lengths win.

Afterwards Mullins Snr. reported “Bishopsfurze is a nicely bred horse who had been showing me plenty at home. He is plenty good enough, hated that ground and will now run in the Cheltenham Bumper.”

Sean Graham Bookmakers make Bishopsfurze 25/1 for the Cheltenham Bumper.
