Connections of Sizing Europe are still keen to try their top-class chaser over three miles again if ground conditions are suitable.

The 11-year-old has finished second in his three attempts at around that distance while his overall record is outstanding, especially at two and two and a half miles.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding ran the brilliant Sprinter Sacre to five lengths in the Boylesports.com Champion Chase over two miles at Punchestown on Tuesday.

Sizing Europe had won his opening four races this season, beginning with the PWC Champion Chase at Gowran in October, before taking second spot behind Sprinter Sacre for the first time in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

"Europe was super and at least we got him (Sprinter Sacre) off the bridle. We're so lucky to have him," De Bromhead told At The Races.

"He'll obviously go for his summer break now. Hopefully, if everything's OK he'll start in Gowran again, and maybe head for the north (Down Royal) or Clonmel.

"We want to look after him as best we can, so we will see nearer the time. We would like to run him again over three miles on good ground, but the races we've picked to try and do it the ground hasn't come up like that this season."
