El Barra had no trouble justifying 1/4 favouritism in winning Limerick's Book Online Beginners Chase today, scoring for owner Rich Ricci, trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Jack Foley.

The French-bred son of Racinger was a dual festival winner last spring, scoring at Fairyhouse and Punchestown, and today got off the mark at the third attempt over fences when making all for an easy win.

The eight year old had chased home Arkle Chase candidates Blue Lord and Saint Sam on previous outings and today Foley reported “that was straightforward, he travelled away and jumped away great. He was jumping well all the way and it was like a canter around and I was delighted with him.

“I had never ridden him before and I'd like to thank Willie and the owners for giving me the opportunity today and it was great we pulled a win out of it.”
