Gale blows rivals away

Sun 13th Feb 2011, 17:08

Trainer Willie Mullins and his jockey son Patrick combined to record a double at Navan today, completing the brace in the concluding Dunsany Bumper with impressive newcomer Lord Gale

The son of Bach displayed an impressive turn of foot inside the final furlong and Mullins Snr later reported “Patrick was very taken with him today and his exact words were ‘he didn’t come out of second gear’.”

He added “he won very easy and has done everything we’ve asked of at home. He’s under consideration for the Cheltenham bumper but really is a future chaser as he is a big strong horse.”

Sean Graham Bookmakers introduced Lord Gale at 20/1 for that Cheltenham race.
