Ger Lyons continued his rich vein of form as Indicative Vote (4/1) made most and rallied when headed a furlong out to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction (C&G) Maiden on debut under Gary Carroll.

Both the placed horses, Classify (10/3) and Crassus (10/1) had their chance up the straight but the strong-staying son of Elzaam (did another lap of the track before pulling up) prevailed by a length and a quarter and a length and three quarters.

The 11/4 favourite Longclaw back from a spell in the United States, finished seventh.

“I never saw that before (horse went around again). Billy Lee was just up behind him (on fifth placer Pontchateau when he was pulling up so they went around again,” said assistant trainer Shane Lyons.

“We’re delighted to have another winner after a great weekend, but especially so for Vincent and Geraldine Gaul (owners).

“He’s a lovely horse that got the trip and he can even step up.

“He’ll come on from that as he was still green.”
