Laurel Grove was edged out when last seen and goes for compensation in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden at Naas on Saturday.

The Fozzy Stack-trained filly stepped up on an initial fourth to be beaten just a head at Fairyhouse and is sure to be a popular pick for this six-furlong event.

She is one of 15 contenders along with newcomer Vormir from Ger Lyons’ yard and the Jessica Harrington-trained pair of Cool Vixen and Punita Arora Arabeska goes for a second win on the bounce in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap after triumphing at Gowran last month.

Lyons’ Bailly has finished second the last twice so is another for the shortlist in this six-furlong affair. Year Of The Tiger failed to sparkle for Aidan O’Brien at Royal Ascot but appears to be the first string of three runners for the yard in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden. Mythologic and newcomer Innisfree also line up for Ballydoyle.
