The Big Lense completed a quick double for Gordon Elliott when recording his first 'track' success in the two-and-a-half mile maiden hurdle at Bellewstown.

The Court Cave gelding, a former point-to-point winner, was sent to post the even-money favourite on his second outing over hurdles.

He chased the leaders before being produced to challenge, by Barry Geraghty, to challenge jumping the second last.

The Big Lense stayed on strongly to get the better of Ozzie's Way on the run-in and record a four-and-a-half length success.

“That was grand and he jumped away well,” said Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus.

“It might not have been the strongest race but he got the job done.

“Barry said the track was probably sharp enough for him but he had that bit of experience. It's nice to his head in front as he had been a bit disappointing.

“We'll probably find a little handicap for him. He's big enough, and won a point-to-point, so he could go chasing sooner rather than later.”
