J.P. McManus' Inothewayurthinkin (7/2) was an inspired winning gamble on debut in Cork's opening Paddy Power From The Horse's Mouth Podcast Maiden Hurdle today, defeating Cesarewitch-third Lot Of Joy (4/11f) into second.

A 16/1 shot last night and 11/1 this morning, Inothewayurthinkin was backed from 11/2 to 7/2 second-favourite near the off, behind Willie Mullins' 97-rated flat handicapper Lot Of Jot.

Inothewayurthinkin raced prominently and a little green under jockey Mark Walsh and went by Lot Of Joy after the second-last, eventually scoring in taking style.

Winning trainer Gavin Cromwell wasn't present and Walsh said “he did it well, was a little bit green and will learn from it. He handled the ground perfectly and while he had a little look at the first, jumped brilliantly apart from that.

“I was out wide at the third-last so pulled him in between Paul (Townend, on Lot Of Joy) and Jack (Kennedy, on third-placed Timmy Tuesday at the next and when I needed a good jump he winged it. He went about his business and is a lovely horse going forward.

He added “I had never sat on him before but had won on three of his four siblings. Judging by that, hopefully he will be the best of them.”

Homebred by Noreen McManus, all four of Inothewayurthinkin's siblings had won for Cromwell, including Ilikedwayurthinkin which finished second at the Aintree festival last April.
