Murphy pair fine after Super Tuesday

Big Zeb and Quito De La Roque gave trainer Colm Murphy a day to remember when landing a Grade 1 double on the opening session of the Punchestown Festival, and the Wexford handler reports both horses in fine shape as they look forward to a summer break.

Big Zeb gained revenge on his Queen Mother Champion Chase conqueror Sizing Europe in the Boylesports.com Chapion Chase, while Quito De La Roque enjoyed his first Grade 1 triumph in the Growise Champion Novice Chase on Tuesday.

"It was absolutely fantastic for them both to win," said Murphy.

"Big Zeb is good and has come out of it all right. He's been out in the field, no bother on him, and he'll go on his summer break now. I imagine we'll bring him back in about the end of July or August.

"I suppose we'll do much the same next season but there's nothing in concrete. He's not getting any younger and we'll probably make it up as we go along and see what's there for him.

"Quito De La Roque is fine as well and he's going on his holidays too. He'll be aimed at the staying chases next season. I hope he'll improve for the summer and he's one to look forward to."
