A trip to the Punchestown Festival is the favoured option for Sandy Thomson's stable star Seeyouatmidnight.

The seven-year-old has endured an interrupted campaign due to injury and did not make his seasonal reappearance until finishing second in the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock in February.

He then headed for the Cheltenham Festival where he was far from disgraced in finishing seventh in the World Hurdle.

Thomson is keen to get another run into his charge before putting him away for the summer and with the ground unlikely to be suitable at Aintree next week, he is set to be prepared for a journey to Ireland.

Thomson said: "I don't think he'll be going to Aintree. He'd want the ground to be soft to go there and it doesn't look like we'll get the rain we need.

"The ground was quick enough for him at Cheltenham. It was brilliant to see him right there with them two out, but then the ground has just found him out.

"He's been very well since, so we'll run him again if we can. He could go to Ayr for a 0-155 handicap, that's a possibility, but I'd say we're probably edging towards Punchestown with him.

"It won't bother me too much if we don't run him again this season as chasing is his game and hopefully we'll have an easier year next season with him that we have this.

"It was a big effort just to get him to Cheltenham."
