Mini just Gets home in Sligo finale They only jumped six fences in the concluding handicap chase at Sligo, over a marathon trip, but it produced a terrific finish with the Martin Lynch-trained Mini Getaway just prevailing. Ballagh Star cut out the running in the race, over just shy of three-miles-two, but was headed crossing the road by Pourquoi Poi. The 11/4 favourite was soon trumped by Mini Getaway but battled gamely in the straight and pressed the 10/1 winner all the way to the line, going down by just head to Alex Harvey’s mount. "She has limited ability, but has a wonderful temperament and is the stable pet,” said Lynch. "She leads everything at home, anyone can ride her, and she can school in front, upsides or in front. "She's been consistent lately but, to be honest, it's a bonus to win a race with her. "I breed a few horses with her owner Mary Ann Onions, who's been in the game a long time and was a steward of the Turf Club in the past. "I've been winding down the yard. I've about 12 riding out, mostly for old friends and clients. I'm riding out five or six lots a day, but I don't bounce like I used to."  (Quotes by Mark Nunan)
