“Staffing is an issue, I'm up at five and work through the day” declared Edmond Kent today, following the 40/1 success of fancied newcomer Royal Creek in Ballinrobe's concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Bumper.

A second winner for amateur jockey Adam Ryan, Royal Creek did the unthinkable in repelling a Willie Mullins trained fast-finishing odds-on favourite, holding Little Soiree (5/6f) by a nose.

Fermoy-based Kent owns, trains and bred the daughter of Getaway in his family's Ballyhampshire Stud and reported "I love this filly and I told all my friends to back her.

“I bred her and she's done everything really easy the whole way. She had a good blow there and she'll come on a load from that run.”

He added "the three horses I have in training were first, second and third here tonight but staffing is a huge issue for me so I've to work hard at it. I'm up at five every morning and I work through the day because I've a lot of horses in the stud farm as well. I've about 25 broodmares there."

Kent's other runners were half-length runner-up Queshi Bridge and third-placed 50/1 outsider Stellar Symphony
