Tranquil aims to bounce back at Punchestown
Tranquil Sea will bid to bounce back to form at next month's Punchestown Festival after his disappointing display in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham.
The eight-year-old headed to the Festival with leading claims having won the Paddy Power Gold Cup over course and distance earlier in the season, but could only finish ninth.
Trainer Edward O'Grady reports his charge to be none the worse and the Guinness Gold Cup is next on his agenda.
"We were obviously disappointed on the day but I suppose he's been disappointing at three Festivals now," said O'Grady.
"He was disappointing as a novice hurdler in the Supreme, he was disappointing as a novice chaser in the Jewson and again this time.
"For some reason the Festival hasn't been as kind to him as we'd like but each time he has come back and run well at Punchestown.
"He won the Grade One novice hurdle there and he was touched off in the big novice handicap chase, so we'd be delighted if he could do the same again.
"He will probably step up in trip for the Guinness Gold Cup."
