Yuften is fast becoming the king of the claimers in Ireland as he landed his fifth such contest since last November at Bellewstown this afternoon.

The eight-year-old was claimed by Ado McGuinness after scoring at Limerick last month and struck on his second start for his new yard.

Having been sixth of eight in handicap company here on Wednesday night he found this level much easier as he swept into the lead at the two pole in the extended seven-furlong contest.

Andrew Slattery kept his mount up to his work inside the final furlong as he posted a two-length success over Basrah Breeze

McGuinness said: "He was the one to beat. We only claimed him a couple of weeks ago and we had no real training done on him, he had had about five or six days on the beach. He was on the beach every day since he ran here the other night.

"He's a grand horse for these type of races and he didn't run badly in the handicap the other night either.

"He's not a bad horse and if we still have him we'll run away with him in these type of races, and if we don't then the best of luck to someone who does claim him.

"We claimed him for a couple of cousins and relations, so it is a local win for them and that is what we wanted. It was great."

There were three horses claimed after the race including the winner:-

Yuften - James McAuley to be trained by Denis Hogan Tennesse Waltz - M Eight Syndicate to be trained by Sean Byrne

Basrah Breeze - P Kerrins to be trained by E D Delaney
