< Gordon Lord Byron limbered up for the Golden Shaheen at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night at the end of the month with an easy victory under the lights at Dundalk.

Tom Hogan's five-year-old, winner of the Group One Prix de la Foret at Longchamp last October, had only three inferior opponents to beat in the BWG Foodservice Race and that was reduced to two when Burn The Boats refused to go near the stalls.

It was fully expected to be litle more than a piece of work for the 1-4 favourite and so it proved, Wayne Lordan settling him in last place before easing alongside Clancy Avenue at the furlong pole and scooting clear to win by three and a quarter lengths.

Lordan initiated a double on the Eddie Lynam-trained Super Sling who was sent off the 5-4 favourite for the Family Value Race on the back of two third-placed runs over course and distance.< My Rules travelled sweetly but didn't find much and Lordan delivered a smooth challenge inside the two-furlong marker on Super Sling, who wasn't troubled to beat the front-running Fairy Foxglove by a length and a half.

David Marnane's eight-year-old He's Got Rhythm put in a good show to finish second at the track last week and delivered on that promise with a fine victory in the Your Local Value Centre Handicap.

Sam James was always travelling like a winner in the straight and when he pressed the button, the 5-1 shot dismissed long-time leader Cash Or Casualty to score by a length.

There was plenty of support for Desiderata in the BWG Foods Handicap, but he had to be extricated from a sticky position and couldn't catch Declan McDonogh on Andrew Slattery's 9-2 shot Sharjah who won by three-quarters of a length.

John Egan burst through a furlong out to land the first division of the Chefs Kitchen Handicap on Esytopolishadimond (11-2), while Stoichkhov (14-1) ran on stoutly from the front for Luke Dempsey to take the second division.
