Never far off the pace in the two and three-quarter mile slog, Gordon Elliott's 10-1 chance took up the running at the second last and stayed on dourly to beat Indifference Curve by seven lengths.< Leave Him Alone proved much too strong for his rivals in the Corrib Food Products Maiden Hurdle, kicking off Russell's double.

The jockey was content to wait on the 11/8 favourite before taking much closer order approaching the final flight.

Tynaghs Tropper just had the edge over the last, but Leave Him Alone stretched clear to score by three lengths.< Last Instalment scooted clear of Alpha Ridge to land the W.B. Gavin & Co. EBF Beginners Chase.

Alpha Ridge had led for much of the contest and looked likely to go one better than in the corresponding race two years ago, but he had no answer once Last Instalment drew alongside on the home bend.

The 3-1 chance found plenty in the closing stages for Brian O'Connell and he came home three and three-quarter lengths in front.< Viaduct Joey ploughed through his favoured testing conditions to land the John Mulholland Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle.

Tom Doyle was always handy on the 7-1 joint-favourite and struck the front two flights from home.

There were plenty of challengers from then on, but Viaduct Joey stuck to his guns well to beat By The Hour by two and a half lengths.
