Oliver McKiernan's Follow The Plan bounced right back to his best to run out a shock winner of the Matty Ryan Memorial Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles.

The eight-year-old showed some smart form as a novice, winning a Grade One in December 2008, but he had failed the find the winner's enclosure since.

The 25-1 chance still had three horses in front of him heading to the final fence in this Grade Two event, but he shot up the far rail to deny Roberto Goldback by a neck.

McKiernan said: "I wasn't expecting that but that just makes it all the sweeter.

"We were held up badly during the cold snap and he probably came on from his last run."< For Bill recorded her eighth victory from just 11 starts in the Ask & Getaway Coolmore NH Sires European Breeders Fund Novice Chase.

Winning trainer Michael Winters said: "Donie (Sheehan, owner) was faster than the mare to book Carberry & ndash; he had him booked nearly as soon as Davy had hit the ground.

"When you build this mare up you can nearly run her every fortnight and turn her out in between.

"I knew she was right coming here today and the run the last day turned her inside out.

"There is a race for her at Limerick on March 13 and that would be the aim. Ideally though I'd like to give her a run in two or three weeks' time before that."

The W.T. O'Grady Memorial Hurdle saw the introductions of smart Flat performers Maxim Gorky and Table Mountain - but neither were a match for 20-1 shot Louisville Lip ridden by David Casey.

"I rate this horse very highly & ndash; I really love him," said winning trainer Pat Flynn.

"He'll go for the Grade One (Spring Juvenile Hurdle) at Leopardstown on Hennessy Day (February 6)."

Casey went on to complete a double on 7-2 chance Concrete And Clay in the Leugh Handicap Hurdle.
