Review kilbeggan 20th Jun
The Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle offered the biggest prize at Kilbeggan and it produced an admirable pillar-to-post victory for Archie BoyMon 20th Jun

Archie on target for the National after game success
The Fay Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan could certainly come under the triumph for the handicapper banner as a large blanket would have covered the first six home and there wasn't very far back to the next two either. Highly-rated chaser Archie Boy was the one that toughed it out from the front, holding off all comers, principal among which was the hat-trick seeking Resolute Bay. Mon 20th Jun

Colm Murphy´s Prince Roco was the narrow winner of the Donoghue Group Hurdle at Naas this evening. Wed 23rd Jul
Obviously he looked well-treated over hurdles. We ran him to see if he'd handle the track with the idea of going for the Midlands National here. Barry said the track wasn't ideal and that he tended to go a bit left. We'll probably ignore him and go for it anyway. There aren't many options for him over fences with the Galway Plate being another option.
Paul W Flynn
we'll aim Archie Boy at the Kerry National at the end of the summer and while the handicapped might put him up for today's win, I don't think he should do as he was entitled to win today. The Midlands National at Kilbeggan is another target and while he could end up having top weight, his class could see him through. The ground today was grand although I thought it would be too slow.
Paul W Flynn
We were going to go for the handicap here tomorrow but he was entitled to win this race today. The ground was way too soft for him at Punchestown and this is the first time this year he's got his trip and ground. We will keep him going throughout the Summer and try find similar type races for him.
Paul W Flynn
He's been a great old servant and he'll have a break now until February or March. The plan is to run him at Aintree. He needs a real fast pace over two miles which he didn't get at Listowel.
Paul W Flynn
He's going very well and we'll tip away with him. He seems to go right-handed well but there are very few races for him,. He (the handicapper) wasn't very hard on him last time. The race cut up today but all he could do was win. The lads are mad to go to Galway but I don't think that would suit him and I'm looking more at Listowel and Killarney while there might also be something in England for him.
Paul W Flynn
Archie Boy was a tricky horse and I was told never to run him right-handed - he used to hang badly going left-handed but Davy (Russell) said that going either direction should not now be an issue.
