It's nice to have him back on a winning track. He's been a bit frustrating after showing a lot of promise early on. He's had breathing problems and has had a lot of operations. He had one before Christmas and that seemed to work. He had a nice first run back at Clonmel and that left him spot on for this. I know it wasn't the best race but it's nice to have him back on track. He hasn't many miles on the clock and will handle better ground. We mightn't pull up at the end of the season and he could keep going during the summer as long as the ground isn't quick.
Eoin Griffin
I was surprised he did that (jumped right) as he never did anything like that before; maybe he was getting a bit lonely in front and I don't think it is an issue. Hopefully things will go right for him during the season and while he'll stay at 2m4f for the time being, he could step up further in time. The Monksfield Hurdle in three weeks time is a possibility but we might wait a little longer. Today was a relief to get out of the way and he's a horse I hold in high regard and Davy (Russell) liked him too.
Eoin Griffin
that's my first horse for Gigginstown and it's nice to get one on the board for them. We've been waiting a while for one like that and I think he's a nice horse. He won his point to point well and also did it well today. I'll talk to Michael and Eddie (O'Leary) but I'd say that might be enough for the year. I'm pleased and relieved with the way he did it as we've been excited about him for a while. He was ready to run last spring but he was too immature and he is still a big baby. In his point to point he didn't settle a yard and Nina said when he hit the front today he didn't know what to do. He has a lot of maturing to do and we'll take it one step at a time with him.
Eoin Griffin
