Second success for Roscommon-regular
Roscommon’s juvenile course-regular Check This Out (5/2) registered a second success at the Connaught track today but pulled up lame having won the Irish EBF Auction Series Race for trainer Noel Meade and jockey Colin Keane. Tue 19th Aug
Check This Out beats favourite in Roscommon opener

Sensini trounces rivals a week after debut effort
While failing to make an impact on debut over the course and distance last Monday, Romeo Sensini left that effort well behind him in the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden. Mon 19th May
After race at Roscommon Tue, 19th Aug, 2025 (1st)
Colin said he thought he was lame pulling up, so hopefully he’s alright. We’ll have to go and have a look at him. Hopefully he’s okay. He was a bit fresh today more than anything and it might just have told on him a little bit at the end. but he got home and that’s the main thing. The race was kind of made up for him and it’s great to have those races for horses that cost a little less money. He’s run three times here and won twice, so he’s a nice little horse and has done well. The second (Giovanni Giorgio) was obviously well fancied and they both pulled a long way clear of the third.

That man is worth his weight in gold and it’s great to have him,. He’s a nice little horse in fairness. The last day he ran here he didn’t have a clue what was going on, he was slow out of the gate and was slow picking up. He actually travelled really well today and he said when he got there he didn’t really know what he was doing either. He should improve a little bit, I hope, and he’s still growing. It’s nice to win for that man because he sent me three two-year-olds. The lad that was third at the Curragh on Friday (Bobby McGee), this fella and he has another nice horse by Mehmas. He also owns two four-year-olds with me.
