The concluding Visit Tipperary Handicap had a plethora of non runners due to the change in going to yielding to soft, and it was Spanish John who won a battle with Plunkett Street at the end of an extended 1m4f. Tue 27th May

He was at his ease all through the race and enjoyed it, plenty of room you see, and the ground was a big help to him. He got it (ground) in Clonmel, but two miles probably too far on that ground, but a mile and a-half on soft (suits). Third in Roscommon, but he had been running well. Nearly all the times he has been trying and staying on. It was just to get it together, get the win.

After race at Tipperary Tue, 27th May, 2025 (1st)
He found it very hard to find his feet and with different things including a palate problem as well. We sent him to Ger Kelly (vet) who gave him a wind operation. He was carrying weight (condition) today so we thought he'd be lucky if he was up to it, but the non-runners helped and so did the wind operation. We'll mix and match between Flat and hurdles but it'll keep my brother-in-law John Smith (winning owner) quiet as he kept saying I'd never win with that fella!
