Article does more than just Staying
The concluding Stars Of Tomorrow Flat Race could have been well-named at Punchestown as Staying Article put up a smashing performance on his debut under James 'Corky' Carroll to slam the staying-on Watchmetail by fourteen lengths. Thu 14th Oct
we had three options with Staying Article this weekend . either come here for this, or else go to either Punchestown or Cheltenham. He was 10lbs 'wrong' with Blackstairmountain today but that was a good confidence booster for him. He's in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse but might instead go for a race there the day before. That was a good performance.

I'm delighted with that. Montan definitely headed him but then he decided he'd done enough.

I'm pleased for one of those (a Definite Article) that he went on the ground. He quickened up really well and he might have another run before being put away until the spring. He is progressing and looks to be going the right way. Andrew (McNamara) said the ground felt different riding him than it did on Shot From The Hip (2nd in the previous race). He is a nice horse, he jumps well and even over-jumped the last. He is in the Royal Bond (at Fairyhouse on November 29th).

I'm very pleased. He is from a great family, he is a brother to the horse (Serein) that got disqualified in the bumper at Fairyhouse last Saturday. His dam is out of Michael O'Brien's Triumph Hurdle winner, Shawiya. It is a great Aga Khan family. He had one bit of work and I thought he might come on from this. I'm thrilled as we've been a long time waiting with him. He'll go for a winners race somewhere and we can hope for the moment that he'll be a Cheltenham horse. He could be sold and I just hope I can keep him in the yard.
