I’m absolutely thrilled and that’s been his target all summer. He won this race last year. He’s been good at home but I’ve been a bit concerned as it’s taken him a while to come into form on the track. Ricky gave him a never say die ride and I’m not sure if any other jockey would have won on him today. He got a really good tune out of him. He did the same here last year with the fences down the back but did eventually warm up to his jumping. The veterans race in Navan will be the plan again and we also have the Ulster National in mind.

I thoroughly enjoy training this fellow; Gaelic Bloodstock bought him for a couple of their friends and we bought two horses to go jumping,. I was keen to get a few jumpers and the plan is to get a few more so we can be busy during the winter as well. I have jumping roots and we have a couple more jumpers in the yard at the moment. To be honest I didn't watch one jump, I was looking at the ground - I get very nervous with the flat never mind the jumps! The ground is very soft and he is old and clever, he only does the bare minimum over the jumps and doesn't tire himself out. I'm delighted.

That was another great ride by Rachael, even better than the last day. We'll freshen him up now and see where we go with him,. I'd say he wants better ground. It's very tacky down the back. We can step him up another furlong or two on better ground.
M F Morris
that was a super ride. He'll probably go for another one of those, and he can't surely be put up much for that.
M F Morris
He'll go for a winners of one or a handicap. He was a bit unlucky in a handicap at Gowran the last day, and travelled a bit better today,.
