Shay Barry is hoping Bentelimar can bounce back to his best at the Punchestown Festival after a lacklustre effort at Cheltenham.

The six-year-old failed to adapt to his temporary surroundings in Gloucestershire and put in a tame effort when well beaten in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle won impressively by Douvan.

However, Barry reports his four-times hurdle winner to have recovered from the experience and will give him a break before preparing him for Punchestown, where he has a couple of options.

"He didn't settle in great and he didn't eat an awful lot the first two days, but he's come back and he's perfect again now," said the Co Waterford trainer.

"We'll give him an easy time for a couple of a weeks and we might take him to Punchestown hopefully. There's a couple of races for him there so that's where we'll probably go."
