Ladies Day crowd up & inspection for Saturday

Traditionally the big day of the week 'Ladies Day' at Punchestown drew the crowds once again.

There was in fact an increase in numbers through the gate this year with the crowd up 2033 to 27,219 from 25,186 in 2011.

With only five contests on the card the Tote aggregate was down from €897,967 last year to €601,734 this season.

The bookmakers were also down from €1,881,685 to €1,158,136.

The course is to hold another 8am precautionary inspection tomorrow morning. The track is currently raceable and heavy.
