Sivola set for Punchestown

Reve De Sivola, runner-up to the brilliant Peddlers Cross at Cheltenham, is set to bid for rich compensation at Punchestown next week.

The Challow Hurdle winner went down by only a length and a half in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle to Donald McCain's star, who went on to supplements his gains at Aintree on Saturday.

Reve De Sivola will now go for the Grade One Cathal Ryan Memorial Novices' Hurdle on Friday week.

"Reve De Sivola has come out of his run at Cheltenham absolutely fine," said trainer Nick Williams.

"I think that he ran exactly to form there - Peddlers Cross is rated 3lb higher than us on official ratings and he has beaten us by a length and a half.

"This will be his final start over hurdles as we want to go chasing with him next season. He's in good order and two and a half miles around Punchestown should suit him."

Williams, who has not yet had a runner at the Punchestown Festival, also plans to send Cornas, who is on course for Tuesday's Boylesports.com Champion Chase.

Cornas finished fourth in the Grand Annual Handicap Chase at Cheltenham last month, and Williams is looking forward to stepping him up in class.

"We are also sending over Cornas for the Champion Chase. I was happy with his fourth in the Johnny Henderson because it rained in the afternoon and made it a bit too soft for him," the Devon handler went on.

"He is a rock solid 150-rated horse, who is very consistent. If he is going to land a big race, then things need to wrong with the major players, but we will take on whoever turns up - you can't win if you don't run."
