Permission was given for Gardener (FR) and Don Rafael (IRE) to both wear a red hood to the start; for Whispering Royal (IRE) to go early to post.
The performance of The Grey Man (GB) which finished sixth of seven runners beaten by 22 ¾ lengths, was considered.
The explanation given by Harriet Dickin that the gelding was unsuited by running over 2 miles on Good, Good to Soft ground, and would prefer running on an easier surface over the distance was noted.
The trainer further commented that she would though run the gelding on similar ground, but that The Grey Man (GB) would be stepped up in trip when doing so.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Gardener (FR), placed fifth, finished lame on its left-fore.
