Permission was given for Burano Murano (GB) to wear a red hood to the start, go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from approximately 1½ furlongs out when the winner, Cayman Dancer (GB), ridden by Joe Fanning, interfered with Percy's Daydream (GB), placed second, ridden by David Probert.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Cayman Dancer (GB)’s placing as the colt began to drift left-handed approaching the final furlong initially intimidating Percy's Daydream (GB) off its intended line, before continuing to hang left-handed throughout the final furlong under a right-handed drive, making contact with Percy's Daydream (GB) on several occasions causing the filly to become unbalanced and to lose momentum as a consequence, with the winning distance being a short head at the line.
The Stewards revised the placings as follows: First, Percy's Daydream (GB); Second, Cayman Dancer (GB); Third, Persian Vision (IRE); Fourth, Burano Murano (GB).
Fanning was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed Cayman Dancer (GB) to shift left-handed without correction, causing interference to Percy's Daydream (GB) over a sustained period.
