FormscanBy Mark Nunan - Runner-up in last year’s Champion Bumper, APPRECIATE IT is unbeaten in three starts over hurdles and comes here after two emphatic Grade 1 victories at Leopardstown. He had Ballyadam and Blue Lord behind last time and, for a horse with winning bumper form over further, has shown plenty of tactical speed over the minimum distance. Royal Bond winner Ballyadam got much closer to the selection last time after a below-par run at Christmas and has always been highly regarded. Formerly useful on the Flat, Metier has made a fine transition to jumping and impressed when a wide margin winner of the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown. He looks best of the home contingent along with Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory whose experience of that big-field handicap will stand him in good stead.
