The son of Scorpion got off the mark over flights at Clonmel last December, and was far from disgraced when fourth in a novice contest at Cork in January. He was running well on his debut over fences at Thurles in February, but fell at the last there, and since finished third of four at Naas in March. He was given a break after that effort, returning to action on the level at Killarney recently. That spin should leave him spot on for this assignment, and a big run looks likely. Artful Artist is sure to prove popular with punters. Davy Russell has been booked to ride the Tony Martin trained gelding, who has some solid form to his name, and looks well-treated off a mark of 106. Handicap debutant Successor is surely better than what he has shown over hurdles to date, and he is another to consider with Barry Geraghty in the saddle. UK raider Newstart, three time winner Empresario, and the Stephen Mahon trained Riverrainshine are others to consider.
