FormscanBy Donal Murphy - An unsurprisingly competitive renewal of this valuable contest. Top-weight Njord would be a deserving winner after two narrow defeats at the Galway Festival. His trainer Jessica Harrington is also represented by Onlyhuman who is definitely capable of making his presence felt. For a selection I'll side with BIG BABY BULL. A good winner here in June on his second start for Denis Hogan, he since failed to make a significant impact in two starts at Ballybrit. Perhaps he just wasn't suited by the undulations of Galway and back at the Curragh now and fitted with cheekpieces for the first time, a much improved performance can be expected. Hogan also saddles Cyrus Dallin and Atlas, while he is responsible for reserves Darkened and Mulzaam. Jassaar claimed this race twelve months ago and while he hasn't won in four starts since, he can't be dismissed. In truth very few can be safely ruled out, with Mythologic, Strongbowe (first time visor), Saltonstall, High Altitude, Flaming Moon and handicap debutant Agitare all likely to have plenty of supporters.
