FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - ALLIGATOR ALLEY might be able to defy top-weight in his first handicap. Joseph O’Brien tries cheek-pieces on the Kingman colt, having his first start in 220 days when second at Naas last time. Previous to that he’d contested the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Santa Anita in November, when equipped with blinkers. It was a Listed race in which he finished runner-up to Punita Arora at Naas, and switching to polytrack Alligator Alley will hopefully find six furlongs within his compass. Never Before could be a nice back-up contender for Joseph O’Brien under Eddie Greatrex, whilst his father Aidan’s Pistoletto needs a little bit of respecting too. Like Alligator Alley, Pistoletto is also in his first handicap on his initial encounter with the polytrack. All told cases can be built for quite a few of them.
