FormscanBy Gary Carson - Another open looking renewal of this race and TAKARENGO may prove the answer to the puzzle. He hit form last Autumn with a couple of wins including an impressive victory at Leopardstown on his final Flat start of the year. His form was only fair during this summer but he ran a cracker in the English Cesarewitch at Newmarket last month when hitting the front two furlongs out before finishing third to Great White Shark. There looks a big pot in the four-year-old and despite a 4lb rise for his last run today could be the day. Plenty of these run here after hikes for wins last time out, including top-weight Shanroe who got 14lb for his success at Killarney early last month. That form looks good with the runner-up The Jam Man winning over in York subsequently. Camorra got 11lb for his win at Leopardstown last time but may be open to further improvement and has in-form apprentice Sam Ewing taking 7lb off his back again. Haparanda is another three-year-old that could have scope for further improvement as she bids to defy a 10lb rise for her win at Leopardstown.
