FormscanBy Tom Weekes - The strength of Irish middle-distance maidens is apparent here and the pick is MONUMENT VALLEY which chased home Epsom Derby winner Serpentine, albeit at a safe distance, at the Curragh 15 days ago. MONUMENT VALLEY has 1L to find with today's rivals Taramansour on a June race (the principals subsequently placed in the Irish Derby) at Leopardstown but MONUMENT VALLEY's staying on effort subsequently behind Serpentine was encouraging and he can continue to progress. Taramansour himself then filled the runner-up spot behind another Ballydoyle runner at Fairyhouse and while in truth there may only be a length either way between the pair, Serpentine's form stand-outs. Joe Murphy's newcomer Glint Of An Eye is notable in that he is owned by John Magnier, is by Australia and while her four siblings have each shown ability, does make a somewhat belated debut today and is best watched. Lady Hanson, by Galileo, has a very strong pedigree but similarly makes a later-than-usual debut and also has no big-race entries. Strip Light showed ability in a winners' race at Dundalk 114 days ago but needs to improve.
