FormscanBy Gary Carson - Irish Derby winner SANTIAGO looks the class act here. Aidan O'Brien has used this race as a starting point for star stayers Yeats, Fame and Glory and Order of St George in recent years and Santiago looks set to try and follow their path down the Cup route this season. The son of Authorized was a game winner of the big race at the Curragh last year just eight days after winning the Queens Vase at Royal Ascot. He was last seen finishing a fine fourth in the St Leger in September and is a classy sort for big staying prizes this season. Baron Samedi was a big improver last year, starting off winning a handicap off 65 and ending his campaign with a Group 2 win in France. His best form was with plenty of cut in the ground and this dry spell may not be ideal. Stratum has winning form in the book already this season but had to work to win a conditions race in Gowran and this looks tougher. Master Of Reality is another solid stayer that has to be considered but he seemed to improve with racing last season and may be best watched on his return.
